Being Charlie
Being Charlie is a drama film directed by iconic filmmaker Rob Reiner ('This Is Spinal Tap', 'The Princess Bride', 'Stand By Me'). It was written by Rob's son Nick Reiner along with Matt Elisofon.
Being Charlie is a coming of age tale of an 18-year-old who breaks out of a youth drug treatment clinic, and when he returns home to Los Angeles, is given an intervention by his parents and forced to go to an adult rehab. There, he meets a beautiful but troubled girl, Eva, and is forced to battle with drugs, elusive love and divided parents.
The film stars talented newcomer Nick Robinson ('The Kings of Summer', 'Jurassic World') as Charlie Mills, Cary Elwes (“Saw”, “The Princess Bride”) as Charlie’s father, Dave Mills, and Susan Misner (“The Americans, “The Good Wife”) stars as Charlie’s mother Lee Ann. The film also stars Morgan Saylor ('Homeland'), Devon Bostick ('Diary of a Wimpy Kid'), and actor-musician Common ('Selma', 'Run All Night').
Being Charlie is produced by Simon Goldberg, Johnson Chan (“Murder on the 13th Floor” and “Locked Away”) and Stephanie Rennie (“The Real St. Nick” and “Presumed Dead in Paradise”).
